About me.

My name is Madison and I own and operate Brew City Blooms, a small-scale flower farm. The flower farm is located approximately 15 minutes north of downtown Milwaukee in Fox Point,Wisconsin. I specialize in growing romantic, fragrant, and heirloom cut flowers. From seed to bloom, all of my flowers are locally grown and handpicked.

Gardening with my dad

Where it all started.

I have grown flowers locally for the better part of a decade, though my love for flowers started far before that! Much of my childhood was spent planting annual blooms with my dad, picking peonies with my mom, or visiting the gardens of my extended family who have roots as farmers in Iowa. My great grandmother Betty has a deep love for gardening. Throughout her lifetime she has grown expansive gardens, started a gardening club in her local community, and has readily shared her gardening knowledge with others. Her small-town farmhouse garden was even featured in a Kodak commercial! Her gardens have always inspired me.

Over the past decade I have worked as a speech therapist in hospital and school based settings, but I have always dreamed of surrounding myself with nature and flowers. Even when living on a small urban lot, I would tuck blooms into every corner and crevice of our tiny yard. Brew City Blooms started in the front yard of our Shorewood duplex, with just two small 4x8’ raised beds. In 2022 I enrolled in the Floret Workshop, an intensive six-week program geared towards growing flowers on a small scale. Shortly thereafter, I started my search for more land to expand my growing space. In spring of 2023 my husband and I moved from our small urban duplex to a 2-acre property in Fox Point. Here I have room to grow more flowers than I ever imagined. Shortly after we arrived, I turned our grassy lawn into numerous flower beds and shared handfuls of cut flowers with neighbors and friends. I received lovely hand written notes from people in my neighborhood and generous donations to continue sharing blooms from my garden. Those messages encouraged me to continue sharing locally grown and handpicked flowers with my community.

The tiny raised garden beds that I started on our urban lot eventually blossomed into BREW CITY BLOOMS as you know it today. I hope to continue expanding the fields and sharing blooms locally year after year. I cannot wait to share it all with you!

Cheers,

Madison
